Step-by-step walkthrough

1. 01

   Register and complete the interview

   Talk to Sherin at the Hugel guild for ten questions worth 10 points each. You need at least 90 points. These answers give full marks.

   Unsure where to hunt → Quietly ask a person passing by. OR Wander around alone and search for a place.

   Travelling from Payon to the desert → Use the Kafra service. OR Walk with a friend.

   No travel money → Sell items I do not need. OR Hunt at a nearby field.

   Hode is too strong → Go back to town.

   Asking for Heal → Would it be possible to get a Heal, please?

   Selling items → Open a chatroom and wait. OR Look to see if anyone already wants it.

   Someone asks for money → Give some of my items and Zeny.

   Helping someone who is lost → Tell them which way to go. OR Guide them to their destination.

   Someone is fighting a boss → Watch, then attack when asked for help.

   An expensive item lies on the ground → Try to find the owner. OR Just walk by.

2. 02

   Submit materials

   Talk to Guild Receptionist / Demon Hunter for one of seven sets. Submit it and note the examiner's destination given at submission: sets A–D go to payon_in03; sets E–G go to payon_in02. Job Level 50 does not skip item gathering.

3. 03

   Enter the test

   Talk to Hunter at the assigned destination and choose Begin test. Receive 200 Silver Arrows and enter the waiting room. Listen to Guide, then queue at Waiting Room for individual entry to the arena.

4. 04

   Hunt the targets and leave the arena

   You have 3 minutes after the start announcement. Kill 4 of the 6 monsters named exactly Job Change Monster. Do not kill similarly named monsters such as Job Test Monster or Hunter Change Monster. Avoid traps.

   After reaching the target, visit Switch at the arena center, 93,101, choose Escape and leave through the north gate at 89,139. A wrong kill or trap sends you back to restart. Monsters disappear after the required kills, but the timer continues; activate the switch and leave promptly.

5. 05

   Receive the necklace and change class

   After passing, you are sent randomly to one of the two Hunter locations in Payon. Talk to the nearby Hunter for Necklace of Wisdom (1007), then take it to Sherin in Hugel to become a Hunter.
